DMG MORI CMX 50 U
The CMX 50 U is a machining centre with a rotary tilting table, presented by BSK for working on multiple faces of a part. The geometry and the available configuration determine the right strategy.

Access to surfaces with different orientations
For a part with features on several faces, its orientation relative to the tool affects the number of stages and access to surfaces. Assessment starts with the complete model and drawing of the part.

What to highlight on the drawing
Mark the relationships between surfaces, hole positions and the datums used for geometric tolerances. Include the material, stock dimensions and the required final condition.
Multi-face machining and simultaneous motion
Orienting the part to machine several faces and simultaneous five-axis machining are different strategies. The operations available for your project must be confirmed based on the configuration and the part requirements.
Tolerances are discussed before ordering
Multi-face access does not automatically determine the part tolerance. Send the dimensional and geometric requirements together with the inspections required.
