CNC milling for parts made to drawing
CNC milling removes material with rotating cutting tools, following a machining program. For quotation, BSK reviews the part drawing together with the material, quantity and functional requirements.

Geometry determines the machining stages
Flat faces, contours, pockets and holes may need different tools and setups. Access to deep areas, thin walls and the relationships between surfaces must be discussed before the process is defined.

Three-axis and multi-face machining
Three-axis machining is an option for many geometries that can be reached from one working direction. For features on different faces, part orientation and the number of setups become important. The choice depends on the part and the configuration of the available machine.
Useful information for your quotation request
- Dimensioned drawing and its revision, together with any available 3D model.
- Exact material, batch quantity and any repeat orders.
- Critical dimensions, geometric tolerances and required roughness.
- Treatments, the final condition of the part and the inspection documents required.
Frequently asked questions
- The model describes the geometry but may not include all tolerances and acceptance requirements. Please also send the drawing or equivalent documentation with explicit specifications.
Functional requirements and tolerances
For parts with detailed functional requirements, see the Precision machining page. The CNC tolerance guide explains the information worth highlighting before assessment.
